At ÆTHER EMBEDDED, we have been developing instrumentation for science for over a decade.  Our experience with a worldwide network of lidar systems makes us well equipped to design hardware around the constraints of the instrument, develop solutions for the challenges of the deployment environments, and craft experiments to study the instruments in the lab.

Our design work includes an automated iris / optical shutter for noontime solar protection, a secondary optical receiver for calibration of fielded instruments, a programmable laser interlock for operations near sensitive flight zones, a field collimator for alignment verification of deployed instruments, and a polarimetric calibration bench for Mueller Matrix retrievals on ferroelectric liquid crystal optical switches.

Automated Iris-

We offer two automated irises, designed to prevent against potential solar damage for sensitive vertical-pointing instrumentation.  Both irises ship with a controller, fully padded shipping case, controller, and all required hardware for a complete installation.

Wide Field Receiver-

Our Wide-Field Receiver (WFR) is designed in collaboration with NASA specifically for the Micropulse Lidar (MPL), and offers a wider field-of-view receiver to perform calibrations/validations on the instrument in the field.  For mid-latitude observation sites, this WFR system interfaces well with our Full-Sized Iris.
